Crepe Myrtle

Crepe Myrtle is listed in both the Sub-Tropical & Temperate categories because they will survive in climates where it never goes below 40 degrees and in climates where the winter lows are in single digits.  More information below the photos.
If kept indoors in winter try to put it on a cool to cold windowsill so it can drop its leaves.  It should be kept moist throughout the year.  They flower from late spring through early summer, with the flowers appearing on new growth.  For the best flowering trim during their dormant period, and after the last summer flowers wilt.  Trimming wilted flowers will increase the likelihood of a second blooming.  Fertilize when there are leaves on the tree (spring to fall)
