Desmodium
Desmodium canadense was given the unfortunate names of "Tick Trefoil" and "Begger's Lice" not because they have or attract ticks or lice, but because the sticky seed pods tend to stick to the clothes of people or fur of animals that rub against them. It is a member of the legume family, and its small leaves and attractive purple flowers make it a great addition to any bonsai collection. Being a native of Canada, it can withstand temperatures well below zero.
