Japanese Juniper

Dwarf Japanese Junipers will survive indoors with the proper conditions, and flourish outdoors.  If kept indoors, they MUST get at least a few hours a day of DIRECT sunlight and MUST be kept in a cooler than room temperature location in winter.  If kept outdoors they can tolerate temperatures in the teens and be buried under snow.  There is more information below the photos.
My first bonsai was a Dwarf Japanese Juniper.  Since 1976, I have sold tens of  thousands of bonsai.  I would estimate that half of these have been Dwarf Japanese Juniper.  Considering that I have a list of nearly 200 cultivars that I have offered for sale over the years, that is a startling amount.  The reason is that the Dwarf Japanese Juniper looks like most peoples idea of what a bonsai is.  In addition, It is strong, relatively pest  free, easy to care for, readily available, and adapts to a wide variety of conditions.
