Japanese White Pine

The Japanese White Pine (Pinus Parviflora) is a 5 needle pine native to Japan, but for centuries is has been grown in areas that have cold winters throughout the world.  It is a favorite with bonsai hobbyists because of its dense, lush blue/green short needles, it acceptance of wiring and its overall growth habits.  More information below the photos.
In Japan it is known as Goyomatsu and called "The emperor's bonsai" because it was the favorite bonsai of many emperors centuries ago.  Because of its hardiness and long lifespan it has become known as a symbol of good health and long life in many cultures.
