A Parrot Beak (Hedgehog, Gmelina Philippensis) makes an excellent indoor bonsai. They do well indoors and can be kept outdoors in warm weather (60 & over). They like a lot of direct sun, but will survive (but may not flower) in partial shade. Much like a Chinese Elm it should be trimmed to 3 or 4 leaves per branch for fullness. If trimmed in this way you can expect new branching from older wood.
