Red Cedar (Juniper Virginiana)
Red Cedar (Juniper Virginiana) is a long lived tree (up to 900 years) which is native to the north eastern United States, but is now found in a large part of the country. Some varieties can reach over 60 feet. It takes well to trimming & wiring, and its plush short light green needles make it a great bonsai subject. As with most conifers, it will not do well indoors or in a climate that is warm all year.
