Sphagnum Moss (the living moss that grows on top of a peat bog) should not be confused with Sphagnum Peat Moss (the dead material that accumulates in the lower levels of a bog)
It is not used for the surface of bonsai trees. Use Kyoto Moss Spores for bonsai trees.
Sphagnum Moss is most commonly used by bonsai hobbyists as a medium for air layering, and it is recognized as the best medium for this purpose. It is also used in flower arranging, arts & crafts, and numerous other applications.
